Presenting photography as live and current rather than a document of the past, DARKROOM offers participants the opportunity to make one single image during a long exposure time. Slowing photography down, it is a return to tradition whilst creating a contemporary photographic installation. Participants receive a sensual and atmospheric experience resulting in a sumptuous ethereal image.
The artist works in front of the camera performatively, involving herself intimately with her subjects as she encourages their expression... This may be a private process or there could be an audience present; organic, transient, guests are encouraged to join in or simply observe the process...
